Five Ways to Promote Your Lead Magnet
Updated: May 11, 2022
They say the best things in life are free, but does that apply to marketing? As it turns out, it kind of does. Free digital products or other freebies can be a great way to increase leads and boost your overall business.
Once you've decided what your freebie will be and how you'll deliver it to your tribe, it's time to think about where you'll share it so that it is most effective.
Here are five ways I use to bring in more leads for my clients:
Share your Excitement - Go Live!
Going Live and sharing your knowledge in a real-time setting only amplifies your credibility, plus it's a great way to grow your list. Pick a topic that relates to your free lead magnet and be sure to include the link to your landing page in the caption. End the LIVE with a call to action -- your free offer -- and even consider throwing in an extra freebie for the first 10 or 25 people to request your digital product. (i.e. a free 15 min discovery call)
Use your Call to Action Button
Since it's one of the first things visitors see when they land on your social media profiles, the CTA button may yield huge rewards if you let it. If you haven’t already updated yours with lead generation in mind, you totally should! Take this opportunity to push your freebie even further by using your Facebook cover photo with an arrow pointing to the call to action button.
Ask recipients to share their awesome new find!
Include a blurb at the end of your lead magnet’s Welcome Email asking your new subscribers to share the link to your landing page with anyone they know who may find your information helpful. It's a great way to get your lead magnet in front of people who might not have seen it before.
Advertise your Lead Magnet on Pinterest
Did you know if you use Pinterest effectively, you can bring in three times more traffic than Twitter, StumbleUpon, Reddit, LinkedIn, Google Plus and YouTube combined.Your pins have the capacity to reach hundreds, even thousands of pinners. An easy way to turn a percentage of these pinners into subscribers is to incentivize your pin with free knowledge. Create a graphic promoting your lead magnet and add it to your Pinterest board along with a detailed description outlining the benefits of downloading your digital freebie.
Offer Advice in Facebook Groups
In Facebook groups, being salesy is frowned upon, but sharing helpful tips and tricks is what groups were built for. Instead of promoting your latest coaching program or your upcoming virtual event, share your lead generation freebie. Save the sales pitch for after they subscribe to your list.
